March 3 – Coffee Hub & Cafe One Year Anniversary

From 10 a.m. until noon at Point Loma’s Coffee Hub & Café, guests can expect locally roasted coffee and conversation, live music, a complimentary slice of homemade anniversary cake, discounts throughout the entire store, including the café’s new branded cycling jersey and matching cap. Additionally, a funky bike relay race is set to commence around café involving two wheels, four people, a full cup of coffee and a mission to spill the least amount, one-handed for a prize. Competitors who wish to participate in the bike race must register and bring their own bike. Those who wish to participate in Coffee Hub Bike Club’s morning group ride prior to the anniversary should arrive with bikes by 8:30 a.m. RSVP here.
March 6 – Havana Paint Night at Miss B’s Coconut Club

You don’t have to be Picasso to have a great time at Miss B’s Coconut Club during their Havana Paint Night on Tuesday, March 6th. All you need is to come ready to dine, drink and paint the night away!

Havana Paint Night is $25 per person and includes all supplies (paint, brushes and canvas). The event begins at 7:00 p.m., but plan to arrive around 6:30 p.m. to get checked in. Order dinner while you’re waiting to get your paint-on; try Plantain Coconut Shrimp served with sweet chili pineapple mojito sauce or the Jerk Rubbed Chicken Wings. There will also be drink specials throughout the event, so you can sip on some of the island-inspired cocktails on the menu.

March 8 – Cocktails and Comedians

Who doesn’t love a good laugh? On Thursday March 8th, join ginger’s in the Gaslamp for their Cocktails and Comedians event, featuring Zoltan Kaszas. Having won San Diego’s Funniest Person Contest and The Seattle International Comedy Competition, the evening guarantees plenty of laughs.

Ginger’s, located just below barleymash, is a hip cocktail lounge featuring live music, DJs and karaoke throughout the week. Sip on wine, cocktails or martinis like The Cosmo, a mix of Skyy Citrus Vodka, Cointreau, fresh lime and cranberry juice. Food can be ordered from the menu at barleymash, which includes sharable plates, flatbreads and iconic barley mac ‘n cheeses.

Cocktails and Comedians is a free show that lasts from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., so plan on arriving early to grab a good seat and laugh until it hurts!

March 14 & 15- Private Wine-and-Pisco Pairing Dinner with Chef Emmanuel

Guests can partake in a private pairing dinner hosted by Chef Emmanuel Piqueras and his friends at BarSol Pisco on March 14th (Point Loma) and March 15th (Carlsbad). Get a taste of the Peruvian tradition at this educational event, which features three courses of special dishes expertly paired with unique South American wines and Peru’s finest pisco varietals. Chef will introduce each paired course and a representative from BarSol Pisco will share about the process of making Peru’s beloved grape-based spirit. Look forward to quinoa-encrusted seared Atlantic salmon with an aji Amarillo and onion marmalade, a special BarSol Pisco infused with vanilla bean and orange zest, and more.

March 15 – Game of Thrones Trivia

“I drink and I know things.” Though said by the wise and intellectual Tyrion Lannister of Game of Thrones, you too can drink and show-off what you know at the Duck Dive’s themed trivia night on Thursday, March 15th. Be sure to brush up on your knowledge of all things Game of Thrones to ensure you’re ready for this epic night.

Along with trivia, the Duck Dive will also be offering special Game of Thrones cocktails including The HodorMinter is Coming and The Crow. They’re so good, you’ll want to try all three! Although the series won’t be returning until Spring of next year, this fun-filled trivia night is sure to help tide fans over until then.

March 17 Literary Tea at the Westgate

The Westgate Hotel is hosting a “Literary Tea” on Saturday, March 17 2:30 PM – 5 PM. Bask in a marvelous afternoon in the company of Mark Sarvas, highly acclaimed author of the debut novel, Harry, Revised, while enjoying an exquisite three-course afternoon tea with champagne. Join us as we celebrate his second book, Memento Park, the story of a son who begins to unravel the story of his father after he acquires a mysterious piece of art.

This breathtaking narrative will not only have the audience considering family history and father-son dynamics but also about the nature of art itself, and the infinite ways we come to understand ourselves through it. March 7-28 – Movie Night in the Park

Every Wednesday evening, Park 101 hosts Movie Night in the Park. Families can arrive early and grab a delicious dinner before the first movie begins at 6:00 p.m. Choose from an assortment of smoked meats, sandwiches and salads. Complimentary popcorn is served while the film plays. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets, as it still gets chilly once the sun goes down.

For parents who need a break from the kids during the week, stick around for a second movie feature for those 21 and older. Sip on beer, wine or cocktails while watching the movie which typically begins at 8:30 p.m.

March 22 – Sip & Savasana Yoga Event at Hotel Solamar

Kimpton Solamar Hotel is hosting their next Sip & Savasana yoga event on Thursday, March 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT, with yoga starting promptly at 6:15 p.m. The light vinyasa flow yoga class will take place at the hotel’s Upper East Bar rooftop, overlooking the downtown San Diego skyline, and will also feature vendors including VIVOBAREFOOT and Sunari Lifestyle showcasing and selling their product, as well as healthy and delicious bars from San Diego’s Perfect Bar. Following the yoga class, San Diego’s FOX5 anchor and health/wellness personality Abbey Gibb will be creating yoga-themed healthy cocktails for all attendees to try!

March 24 Women’s Wellness Celebration 

On Saturday, March 24th, Hotel Republic San Diego pays tribute to the fairer sex with a special Women’s Wellness celebration featuring a celebrity yoga instructor at Topside Terrace Kitchen & Bar, the hotel’s gorgeous rooftop patio and dining deck. This charitable event will bring together Southern California’s leading female entrepreneurs from the wellness, lifestyle and spirits sectors with proceeds directly benefiting Just in Time for Foster Youth.

March 24 – Seize. Spin. Sip.

Seize. Spin. Sip. is a craft beer-infused spin class (aka the best type of spin class) presented by new San Diego fitness startup Spin & Go in partnership with Second Chance Beer Company. The first event in this ongoing, twice-monthly series will take place Saturday, March 24. To participate in Seize. Spin. Sip. guests can purchase a $25 ticket via Eventbrite to their choice of spin class, including an advanced level workout (launching March 24 and taking place the fourth Saturday of each month) and an introductory spin class (launching April 7 and taking place the second Saturday of each month). Purchasing a ticket secures its holder a spot in the selected 45-minute Spin & Go class as well as access to an 8-ounce craft beer or two 4-ounce tasters following each workout.

March 27 – The Haven’s 5 Year Anniversary

Celebrate The Haven Pizzeria’s five-year anniversary with a party on Tuesday, March 27th! The quaint Kensington neighborhood eatery, located on the corner of Adams Avenue and Terrace Drive, welcomes neighbors and visitors alike to join in the celebration from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The anniversary party will include:

March 27 – Crawfish Cookout

Anyone who loves a traditional crawfish boil is guaranteed a good time, as there will be plenty of Southern-style food for all the enjoy. Beginning at 3:00 p.m., traditional Louisiana Crawfish will be served by the pound with corn on the cob, red potatoes and andouille sausage. Cool the Cajun heat with local craft beer in bottles or on draft. Food will be served until it runs out, so plan on arriving early to savor the flavor! Fish Shop takes pride in serving the freshest fish in Pacific Beach, along with being family-friendly and dog-friendly. March 30-31 Easter Bunny Teas 

On Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31, the Westgate will host its annual Easter Bunny Teas featuring kid friendly petit-fours and mini pastries paired with a traditional European afternoon tea. Families can take part in an Easter egg hunt on the Riviera Terrace, watch a magic show and meet the Easter Bunny. Events will begin at 2:30 p.m. and run until 5 p.m.on both days. The price is $50 for adults and $35 for children 12 and under, plus tax and gratuity.
