Jan 8 – Wine Dinner at TBS Tavern

TBS Tavern in Mission is hosting its second themed wine pairing dinner on January 8th featuring Sicilian Wines and cuisine. Owners Scott and Thai Slater, who just returned from a trip to Sicily and renowned winemaker Donnafugata have curated an authentic menu paired with spectacular wines that will give you a real taste of the diverse flavors of Sicily. $65 includes all courses and wine pairings. Jan 10 – 4 course Tequila Dinner at C Level 

Warm up your January with one of the hottest events of the month: C Level on Harbor Island invites in guest chef hometown hero Travis Swikard, who recently moved back to San Diego after 10 years working in NYC as the right-hand man of acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud. This one-night-only, 4-course dinner will give diners a peek at Chef Swikard’s creativity and mastery of ingredients. Each dish, such as a charcoal grilled ribeye with an ancho chile mole and oyster aguachiles with finger limes and shishito pepper, are expertly paired with a hand-crafted tequila cocktail from Casa Nobel’s global ambassador, David Yan. Jan 12 – Beer Release
On National Kiss a Ginger Day, Second Chance Beer Company is releasing a Hazy IPA called, Favorite Ginger Friday. This is not a ginger beer, but a beer for gingers, by gingers. Stop by Second Chance’s North Park Beer Lounge and join the ginger BeerTenders featured on the can, Alex and Ben, in celebrating our freckled friends! A portion of the proceeds sold on January 12, National Kiss a Ginger Day, will be donated to UCSD’s Moores Cancer Center for Melanoma Research. There will also be a kissing booth so that you can show your love to one of YOUR favorite gingers!
Jan 16 – Chef Demo at Little Italy Food Hall
Join the Little Italy Food Hall on Wednesday, January 16 from 6 to 7 p.m. for a live cooking demonstration by Mein St. Asian Kitchen highlighting an easy, at-home recipe for Mongolian Beef. Accompanied by Sam the Cooking Guy, Mein St. Asian Kitchen will go through the step-by-step process of how to create and enjoy this simple yet delicious meal in the comfort of your own home. This cooking demonstration will take place outdoors on the Little Italy Food Hall’s patio, and guests 21+ are also welcome to simultaneously enjoy half off all bottles of wine as part the food hall’s weekly Wine Wednesday. Jan 16 – “Yappy Hour” at The Patio 101
Join us at The Patio on 101 for a very special “Yappy Hour” on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with 10 percent of food sales benefitting the San Diego Humane Society. Jan 20 – JRDN’s Bubbly and Brunch at the Beach

Bubbles, brunch and the beach, what else does a San Diegan need? On January 20 from 11 am to 1 pm, join JRDN for their second Bubbles and Brunch event. Featuring Gerard Bertrand Winery, JRDN’s wine professionals will pour guests selected bubbly perfectly paired with a three-course brunch prepared by Chef Dave Warner.

The leading expert from the South of France, Gerard Bertrand is committed to sharing the unique characteristics and diversity of each of the wines grown and produced in the terroirs of Languedoc-Roussillon. Jan 26 – Beer Release at Second Chance Beer Company

Second Chance Beer Company’s barrel-aged beer adventure continues with The Barrel Experience #2: Coconut Macaroon and will be dropping at both Second Chance locations (Carmel Mountain Ranch and North Park) on January 26 at 12 p.m. This Imperial Stout was aged 24 months in Bourbon barrels and finished with toasted coconut, macadamia nuts, and coconut brown sugar. Only 80 bottles will be released (40 at each location), first come, first get, so beer aficionados should show up early. Additional details and rules can be found HERE. Limit one bottle per person. Join ginger’s in the Gaslamp for a night filled with laughter at theirCocktails and Comedy event. On Thursday, January 31st, the trendy cocktail lounge will have an entertaining lineup of San Diego’s funniest comedians including headliner Dustin Nickerson of Comedy Central. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the comedians are on stage from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Cocktails and Comedy is a free event, so arrive early to grab great seats and a bite to eat before the show begins. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and there is a two-drink minimum.
