Worth Waiting For: Salvucci's Ristorante

We’re going to miss Común Kitchen & Tavern, but we’re even more excited for what is coming in it’s place – Salvucci’s Ristorante, a new concept from RMD Group, opening next month. Salvucci’s Ristorante San Diego
After RMD Group’s hugely successful launch of Rustic Root, we cant wait to see their spin on authentic Italian dishes based on traditional family recipies. With Chef Michael Marino creating home-style Italian meals and a focus on community, Salvucci’s looks to be the new gathering place for San Diego’s East Village.
“Salvucci’s is more than just a name to us,” said Michael Georgopoulos, RMD Group partner. “We wanted to create a restaurant that pays homage to the generations of family members who have passed down the recipes we love, and it’s these recipes, on which the Salvucci’s menu was built. We look forward to welcoming San Diegans in to enjoy good conversation and great food in an atmosphere that feels like a warm Italian-American homecoming.” Recipes and dishes are to be inspired by the RMD Group Partners’ grandparents, including Loreto and Pasqua Salvucci, originally from the small village of San Donato in central Italy. The Salvucci’s emigrated to America in the 1930’s where they raised a large, Italian-American family on generous, homemade and delicious meals that married traditional Italian recipes with local ingredients. These recipes, passed down from family to family, and kitchen to kitchen for over a century, are the basis for the Salvucci’s menu.   The restaurant interior will feature copper tables and decorative wine box stacks, with black and white images of Italian families at work in the kitchen adorning the walls.  Salvucci’s935 J Street, San Diego, CA 92101
