Grab your friends and get ready to pop some bubbly because 2017 is right around the corner. The below San Diego hotspots are ready to help locals bid adieu to 2016 and welcome in a whole new year of possibilities with everything from a rat pack inspired casino night to the chance to win one million dollars!   

Kettner Exchange 

Time to dust off that sparkly dress and black tie because Kettner Exchange is hosting a New Year’s Eve Rat Pack Extravaganza. Beginning at 5 p.m. guests can enjoy a five course prix fixe menu (starting at $100/ person) with suggested wine pairings, live music by David Patrone, casino games hosted by The Grand Artique and a champagne toast as the clock strikes midnight. On New Year’s Day, join Kettner Exchange’s Tiki Oasis brunch, featuring tropical DJ styling and cocktails to cure any residual 2016 pain. 

 

Rooftop by STK

Kick of 2017 on the Rooftop by STK, located at the Andaz San Diego. The Rooftop by STK will offer an open bar from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with light tray-passed hors d’oeuvres. General admission tickets will begin at $89 with bottle service and tables available beginning at $1,000. Guests can also enjoy a live DJ, multiple bars, a countdown to midnight and a midnight champagne toast. Guests must be 21 or older and dress code is festive.

 

 

New Year’s Cocktail Experience at Grant Grill

This New Year’s Eve, Grant Grill has created an intimate table-side cocktail package experience in its Lounge to ring in the New Year. Cocktail aficionados can delight in personal mixology with Chef de Bar, Cory Alberto, as he creates a variety of exceptional craft cocktails including flaming Blue Blazer cocktails for the table to cap the night. The first popularized flaming cocktail is sure to please, composed of cask-strength single-malt Scotch, Demerara sugar or sugar in the raw, and lemon peel, mixed together as Alberto creates a spectacular blue flame between two mixing glasses. The special cocktail activation for New Year’s is an ode to President Ulysses S. Grant who the hotel is named after (built by the former President’s son) and who was highly impressed by his first Blue Blazer cocktail. Additional cocktail package pairings include a welcome seasonal citrus bottled cocktail, a flight of unique and exceptional spirits including Sancerre Orange Wine, Genepi Americana Cocktail and the exclusive last batch of the property’s Gentleman Grant, paired with a cheese and charcuterie board as well as additional bites. Reservations are $700 for a party of four, $1,400 for a party of eight, excluding tax.

 

Bellamy’s 

Bellamy’s, one of Escondido’s most sought-after dining destinations, will be offering a specialty New Year’s Eve menu prepared by Chef Jonathan Freyberg. Menu highlights include smoked wild salmon, foie gras torchon, pan-seared scallop and king beef filet mignon. A complete list of New Year’s Eve offerings can be found here. 

 

Tidal at Paradise Point Resort & Spa

Where better to ring in the New Year on the sparkling waters of San Diego’s Mission Bay at Tidal’s annual New Year’s Eve dinner and dancing celebration. Enjoy the finest coastal cuisine and choose from two dining options at the bay-front eatery, known for providing the ultimate Southern California dining experience. 

  • First Seating (4-7 p.m.): A three-course prix fixe dinner menu created by Tidal Chef Danilo “DJ” Tangalin for $59.
  • Second Seating (8-10:15 p.m.): A four-course prix fixe dinner menu created by Tidal Chef Danilo “DJ” Tangalin for $90. Enjoy access to live music and dancing throughout midnight, as well as party favors and a celebratory Champagne toast to the New Year. 

 

Rustic Root 

Ring in the new year atop Rustic Root and toast to the final moments of 2016 at the Gaslamp Quarter’s only rooftop restaurant. Begin the celebration with a one-of-a-kind New Year’s Eve four-course dinner offered downstairs with amuse bouche options of lobster bisque or rustic salad, appetizers including mussel gratin, wagyu tartare and wild mushroom risotto, entrees of dry-aged NY steak, herb-crusted lamp chops, prosciutto-wrapped pheasant breast, and Chilean sea bass, and a variety of mouthwatering desserts. Dinner guests will be treated to live entertainment in the stylish ambiance to make this year’s countdown extra special. Rustic Root’s four-course pre-fixe dinner is $95 per person with an optional $75 wine pairing. Early bird admission to the rooftop celebration is $20 per person and VIP rooftop fire pits and tables start at $600. 

 

The Commons 

The Commons, a local favorite in the heart of the Gaslamp, will be hosting a midnight champagne toast to the new year on Saturday, Dec. 31. There will be no cover for this event and guests are invited to ring in 2017 with good music, delicious drinks and great company. 

 

Rancho Bernardo Inn

Located in North County San Diego, Rancho Bernardo Inn is the perfect backdrop to ring in 2017! Cap off 2016 with delicious dining options such as prix fixe three course menu at Avant or indulge in a la carte dining at Veranda Fireside Lounge & Restaurant. New Year’s Eve at The Inn will feature live music by The Kicks, balloon drop, party favors, complimentary drink ticket and snack mix.

 

 

 

New Year’s Eve at Hotel del Coronado 

Ring in the New Year with family and friends at The Del and experience two festive and unique celebrations. From 9pm to 1am on December 31st the Hotel del Coronado’s magnificent Crown Room will transform into ‘Club Crown,’ a wild post-dinner party. Complete with DJ entertainment and dancing, Crown Club with tempt guests further with a light dessert reception with savory sliders and tuna tartare, champagne glees, and linzer cookies. Tickets for Club Crown cost $120 per person and includes admission, two drink tickets, cash bar, and a midnight champagne toast. Alternatively, for an evening full of adventure guests can experience “Far East Fantasy”—a celebration filled with exotic sights, sounds and senses discovered along the Silk Road. This black-tie gala transforms the oceanfront ballroom in Byzantine Empire style and features a delectable five-course feast including a Dim Sum Cart, Polynesian Poke, and a Duet of Filet Mignon and Citron Glazed Prawn entree. The night also includes an open bar, and dance music by The Mighty Untouchables. Far East Fantasy at The Del is $370 per person for general seating, or $420 per person for VIP ringside seating.

 

 

 

New Year’s Eve Dinner at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa

Ring in the New Year at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa’s signature restaurant, Veladora with live music and a delectable four-course meal made with the finest seasonal ingredients. The indulgent meal will consist of various dishes including lobster consommé made with Maine lobster, potato, and matzo ball; short rib croquette with mustard aioli, shaved onion, and radish; king crab risotto with citrus, chive oil, brussel leaves, and pancetta crisp; poached Atlantic salmon with braised kale, bacon, shallots, shrimp, and shelling beans; vanilla bean panna cotta with poached pears and more. New Year’s Eve dinner at Veladora is $150 per person and $175 with wine pairings.

Harbor Town Pub
Dust off those old yearbooks because Harbor Town Pub is gearing up for the New Year with their 80’s Prom Party.
