For one delicious day, local restaurants, bakeries and coffeehouses across San Diego will participate in Susan G. Komen San Diego’s Dine Out for the Cure®. It’s simple. Eat at a participating restaurant and you’ll help San Diego breast cancer patients become breast cancer survivors. Komen Dine Out for the Cure, as well as National Mammography Day on October 21, where guests can enjoy delectable desserts while assisting in the fight to end breast cancer. The bakery will donate 10% of its sales on each of the two days to Susan G. Komen San Diego. Nothing Bundt Cakes carries a variety of delicious, hand-decorated caked with the shop’s signature frosting.  CUCINA Enoteca at Flower Hill Promenade Sip and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month at CUCINA Enoteca, where $1 from the sale of every glass, bottle and carafe of their private label CUCINA wine will be donated to Breast Cancer Angels, an organization aiding in financially assisting people in breast cancer treatment. They are also serving our Especialidades tacos on pink tortillas to raise awareness for Breast Cancer prevention and screenings. The tortillas are made pink by adding beet juice and sesame seeds to our masa. The boutique specializes in carrying the latest fashion trends that are bohemian, funky, comfortable and colorful, with a dash of feminine touches.  Bike for Boobs – October 16, 2016Bike for Boobs hits close to home for friends of The Wine Pub after owner Sandy Hanshaw underwent treatment for stage three breast cancer. After Sandy’s experience, she and husband Andy Hanshaw, executive director of the San Diego Bike Coalition, decided to give back by doing what they do best: riding bikes and serving great wine. The local, gourmet restaurant rolls out its popular annual community event for the fourth year, expecting dozens of neighbors to join the pink bike parade followed by a party at The Wine Pub. In 2015, Bike for Boobs raised $8,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund– an amount the Hanshaws aim to beat this year. Bike for Boobs brings neighbors together for a pretty-in-pink celebration of life during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event’s beneficiary, Breast Cancer Fund, serves as a mighty force in exposing and eliminating the environmental causes of breast cancer.   Seasons 52All Seasons 52 restaurants are partnering with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to raise money for the program, which provides help and inspiration to those affected with breast cancer. For every (pink) Deviled Eggs appetizer purchased during lunch, dinner or happy hour, $1 will go towards benefitting the cause.
