With Labor Day coming up quickly in early September, San Diego restaurants are gearing up for a fun-filled weekend of festivities with specials and events lined up throughout the holiday!  Kick-off the Labor Day celebration with Union Kitchen & Tap in Encinitas at their “No White After Labor Day” Party on Sunday September 3rd starting at 9:30 p.m. Join in on the festivities with a live DJ spinning hip-hop throwbacks all night, and don’t forget to show up in your best all-white attire to receive 20% off your bar tab! Start your Labor Day Monday off right with brunch at Union Encinitas from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., social hour specials from 3 p.m. to close, and 20% off for Military and First-Responders! Head to Backyard Kitchen & Tap this Labor Day for an unbeatable lineup of activities in Pacific Beach. Enjoy brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and a live DJ on Saturday starting at 12:30 p.m. and on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. Spend your Saturday viewing the Michigan V. Florida game on one of their many flat screens as you sip on a signature summer cocktail. Enjoy signature housemade Sangria on Sunday, added to the menu just for the holiday weekend, and be sure to make Pillbox your go-to for brunch on Monday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., for a menu brimming with Pillbox specialties. In celebration of the long weekend, Red Card Café in Bay Ho will extend its weekend brunch service to be served 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, September 4. And, brunch-goers are in luck: upon hiring new Executive Chef Jeff Larson from Napa’s Michelin recommended Goose & Gander, Red Card has just refreshed its popular brunch menu. Guests can enjoy savory and sweet flavors from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Some of the new brunch menu items include the Park Benedict, made with a thickly sliced kolache (pastry) and your choice of brisket or pulled pork, topped with two poached eggs and a barbeque hollandaise sauce. And, of course, brunch without booze is just a sad breakfast, so for this reason, Park 101 is offering weekend specials like $3 Tecate drafts, $5 Resident Urbanite IPA drafts and $15 bottles of Cupcake prosecco or rosé, with complimentary juice bar.
