Fashion Week San Diego Puts Local Designers on the Map

By October 17, 2017 No Comments

San Diego is famous for its beautiful beaches and incredible weather – and as locals, we love the lifestyle here where flip-flops are considered a standard in our wardrobes.  We are a fit and attractive region, but would you consider us a mecca for fashion? Maybe not – until now that is…     Move over Milan, Paris, New York and Los Angeles, because Fashion Week San Diego, during the first week of October, showcased a series of events, including a Fashion Film Screening, the Art Behind Beauty behind the runway kick-off event, two nights of runways shows and a trunk show/award ceremony as part of their 10th anniversary celebration.   This year’s designers and artists came from various backgrounds and styles.  A beautiful lineup of models strut their stuff to a full house on the second night of the Fall Runway Shows, which took place on Saturday, October 7 at the Broadway Pier. Hulabelle, They and Them, Taylor Whipp, Wafa, RH Creation, Oseas Villatorro, Isabel Vianey, Saul Lizacri, Territa Torres, Vaughn Berry and BAZA teamed with fashion entrepreneur and Fashion Week Founder Allison Andrews to make this night a success.  You can visit the Fashion Week website to see bios of this year’s designers, their backgrounds and passions that inspired their incredible designs.    http://fashionweeksd.com/fwsd-2016-designer-spotlight/ Photos by Melissa Jacobs – sandiegophoto.com
