Cant-Miss July Events in San Diego

July 6-7 – Mercado del Sol

Experience a weekend of shopping and fun in the sun at Diane Powers’ Bazaar del Mundo’s second annual Mercado del Sol on July 6-7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Over a dozen artists and vendors will meet at Bazaar del Mundo to showcase their summer-inspired collections of handcrafted jewelry, fashion, gifts and more at this free weekend event. Vsitors can also enjoy a fresh salad bar and other delicious summer treats throughout the Shops.

This year will feature a raffle and representatives from Johnny Was, a world-famous brand known for its cultural, bohemian designs. To join the festivities, visit Bazaar del Mundo at 4133 Taylor Street at the north entrance to Old Town.

July 9 – Northern Pine Beer Dinner

Calling all craft beer enthusiasts! Join Union Kitchen & Tap Encinitas for their upcoming Northern Pine Brewing Beer Dinner on July 9th. Starting at 6:30 p.m., this special event will feature a six-course dinner menu complete with beer pairings, all matched with the location’s iconic rustic atmosphere. Dishes include Compressed Watermelon Carpaccio, Scotch Egg, Boneless Country Rib, Fish & Chips, Smoked Pork Cheek, and a reimagined Peanut Butter and Jelly dessert.

July 12 – Justin Froese

July 18 – New Little Italy Wednesday Market

The Little Italy community will welcome a brand new year-round weekly Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays, starting July 18 in the newly opened Piazza della Famiglia. The Little Italy Wednesday Market was created to be the destination “where the chefs shop,” providing local chefs and restaurants a mid-week market to give them plenty of time to shop for local produce and ingredients to craft their menu specials for the upcoming weekend.

The Little Italy Wednesday Market will also serve the thousands of residents, employees and visitors of Little Italy by providing another opportunity for shoppers to shop local and support local farmers and foodmakers. The mid-morning market (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) will offer a selection of farm fresh produce, pastured eggs, poultry, meat, fish and more brought to the neighborhood by California farmers, fisherman and artisan foodmakers.

The Little Italy Wednesday Market will occupy three blocks on W. Date St. between Kettner Blvd. and State St. Shoppers will also be able to enjoy live entertainment on select street corners—adding to the authentic Italian ambience of the Little Italy atmosphere.

July 18 – Del Sur Reyes y Cobardes Mezcal Tasting Event 

On Wednesday, July 18th, join Del Sur Mexican Cantina and guest Bartender Trevor Bowles, with Blueprint Spirits, for a fun-filled evening of mezcal tasting and education! 2018 has already experienced the popularity of mezcal, for which demand is only poised to grow throughout the rest of the year, and Del Sur wants to make sure you know everything there is to know about the smokey spirit.

Trevor will be pouring Reyes y Cobardes (Kings & Cowards) Mezcal from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the event, Del Sur will also offer two hosted special cocktails for $8 each and a flight of three for $10! While partaking in the mezcal tasting, nosh on any one of the authentic Mexican dishes found on the menu.

July 20 – Little River Band at Viejas Casino  Resort

Dubbed as the “the best singing band in the world” by the legendary music icon Glenn Frey of the Eagles, The Little River Band achieved the remarkable status of being the first band to have Top 10 hits for 6 consecutive years. Today, The Little River Band continues to perform to sellout crowds around the globe with their hits, “Reminiscing”, “Lonesome Loser” and “Cool Change” and more. July 21 – PADI Women’s Dive Day

For the fourth consecutive year, the world’s largest scuba diver training organization invites divers of all ages and experience levels to celebrate women and the dive community for its worldwide celebration known as PADI Women’s Dive Day. PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) encourages females around the globe to band together onSaturday, July 21, to safely and confidently explore the underwater world and inspire more women to experience how diving can transform their lives. San Diego’s local event is at: Ocean Enterprises, San Diego, CADive + snorkel, plus breakfast on the beach

July 21 – All American Car show XX

The All American Car show XX hosted by the MOPAR Club is open to all years/makes Cars and Trucks. $25 pre-registration until June 30th, $30 after June 30th. Supports Wounded Warrior Homes & other veteran organizations. 8am-3pm at 3333 Manchester Ave, Cardiff, CA 92007.

The show annually draws 250-300 vehicles and 2,500-3,500 people. July 23 – Paint Night at Nautilus Tavern

La Jolla’s neighborhood bar and grill, Nautilus Tavern, is hosting a Paint Night on Monday, July 23rd – the party begins at 6:00 p.m., but you’ll want to arrive early to grab a seat and get a bite to eat. Partake in Nautilus’s Happy Hour, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.where you can nosh on $6 ground beef tacos (2), a $6 Small Nachos plate and other delicious eats. Happy Hour also consists of $2 off beer, wine and cocktails, like the popular Escape from Alcatraz made with Templeton Rye Whisky, Cointreau, fresh lemon juice, tepa agave and a dash of orange bitters.

July 25 – Progressive Dinner

Carmel Valley’s newest prime food and shopping destination will host guests for a three-course dinner at three of the property’s best restaurants: Wokou, Casa Rustica and Amici.  The evening begins at Wokou with appetizers and cocktails. Then you’ll be whisked off to Amici for an entrée and wine. To close out the evening, stroll over to Casa Rustica for a relaxing cup of coffee and dessert. All three restaurants will offer diners two choices of appetizer, entrée and dessert. The event will take place on Wednesday July 25th  at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $50.00

July 26 – ginger’s Cocktails & Comedy

Join ginger’s in the Gaslamp for a night filled with laughter at their Cocktails and Comedy event. From 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26th, the trendy cocktail lounge will have an entertaining lineup of San Diego’s funniest comedians including headliner Chris Cope.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy shareable appetizers such as Beer Battered Chicken Tenders, flatbreads or iconic barley mac ‘n cheeses, from the barleymash menu upstairs.

Cocktails and Comedy is a free event, so arrive early to grab great seats and a bite to eat before the show begins. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and there is a two-drink minimum.

July 26 – Tacos & Cocktails

Del Sur Mexican Cantina is partnering with You & Yours Distilling Co. for a fun and festive night of tacos and cocktails on Thursday, July 26th! The South Park eatery will be hosting a street taco pop-up at the gin and vodka distillery’s tasting room, located in East Village on G Street.

At the event, which lasts from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., guests can purchase tasty taco and cocktail pairings. Some of the tacos highlighted on Del Sur’s menu include Shredded Chicken and Beef, vegetarian Jackfruit and Carne Asada.

You & Yours boasts a selection of craft cocktails, made with either gin or vodka. If you prefer vodka, you’ll want to try the Naughty by Nature with grape shrub, orange, lemon and Topo Chico. For gin lovers who like a little spice, the Do You Want That Spicy? made with grapefruit, lime, cucumber, sea salt, Topo Chico and Serrano bitters (optional) is right up your alley.

July 26 – Havana Party

Mavericks Beach Club is Havana Party! On Thursday, July 26th, Bacardi and Pura Vida Bracelets will partner up to transform PB’s favorite beach bar into a provocative Havana night club featuring Cuban-inspired rum cocktails, cigar rolling, vibrant music and burlesque dancers.

There will also be celebrity guest appearances from Colton Underwood, a contestant on this season of “The Bachelorette”, along with other cast members. Mavericks will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales to Colton Underwood’s Legacy Foundation, a non-profit organization created to empower people with Cystic Fibrosis. The foundation also raises funds for research and provides both resources and equipment for those living with the disease.

The event lasts from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., so come out for a fun evening to support a good cause!

July 28 – Ales & Acoustics

Herringbone La Jolla will be hosting its monthly Ales & Acoustics event in partnership with Absolution by the Sea on Saturday, July 28 from 12pm-4pm to bring San Diegans the best of local beers available on tap and live musical tunes. Music will be by Whitney Shay & guests can look forward to noshing on Herringbone’s oyster hour bites while washing it down with one (or a few…. ) of the brews which will be on tap – featuring Absolution Purgatory Hefeweizen, Absolution Forbidden Blonde Ale, Absolution 405 IPA & Absolution Cardinal Sin.

July 28 – Poker Ride

Rev up those engines and stack up the poker chips! It’s time for the Warrior’s Code Poker Ride. Save the date – July 28 – for an amazing TV segment on location.

Hosted by Biggs Harley-Davidson of Southern California, this poker run invites motorcycle & classic car enthusiasts, male, female, young, and old, from all over Southern California to spend the day cruising to four designated spots, where each participant will be greeted with one playing card to assemble their hand for their five-card draw.

100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the WWH in their mission to provide affordable housing, hands-on resources and a defined path to transition back into civilian life for single servicemen and women of the armed forces with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress.
