December 5 – Daou Wine Dinner

Wine industry heavyweights Georges and Daniel Daou are bringing their passion for wine to Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza (Del Mar). Get transported to Daou Mountain outside Paso Robles as Executive Chef Alfie Szeprethy guides you through an eclectic three-course dinner complemented with wine pairings by Daniel Brunner of Daou Winery. Reserve a seat at this collaboration with award-winning Daou Winery and taste, sip and savor.

December 5 – Holiday Cristal Dinner

Join Chef Brian Malakery’s Herb & Wood in Little Italy for an unforgettable evening of bubbles at the Holiday Cristal Dinner, with unique and innovative pairings with the wines of Maison Roederer, one of the top Champagne producers in the world, including two vintages of their legendary Tête de Cuvée, Cristal. Taking place Wednesday December 5th from 6pm to 9:30pm,tickets are limited and can be purchased here for $150.
December 7 – National Cotton Candy day
On Friday, December 7 celebrate National Cotton Candy day with San Diego’s Get Fluffed Up Cotton Candy and You & Yours Distilling Co. at the Little Italy Food Hall. Get Fluffed Up, the hand-crafted vegan and non-gmo “fairy floss” popular for its exotic and unexpected flavors, will set up a pop-up shop at the Little Italy Food Hall where it will offer cotton candy treats from 6 to 9 p.m. Throughout the day the Little Italy Food Hall Bar will also serve a variety of craft cocktails designed in collaboration with You & Yours Distilling Co. and topped with Get Fluffed Up’s cotton candy creations including Bubbly Bees Knees (Y&Y Sunday Gin & Champagne flavored Cotton Candy, Lemon Juice, honey), Lavender Gimlet (Y&Y Sunday Gin & Lavender flavored Cotton Candy, Lime Cordial, Salt), Better than Cold Brew (Y&Y Vodka & Cinnamon flavored Cotton Candy, Coffee Cordial, Egg white, Chili Powder) and Prized Pony (Y&Y Vodka & Ginger flavored Cotton Candy, Ginger, Lime Juice, Peach Bitters).
December 10 – Mavericks Winter Formal

This top PB party spot will be kicking off the holiday season on Monday, December 10th with their inaugural Mavericks Winter Formal, presented by Makers Mark. The festive event is from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and will feature tray passed apps, drink specials, live music, a build-your-own spiked coco station, and so much more. Formal attire is required, and tickets can be purchased in advance here.

December 12 – Wine and Dinner Pairing

On December 12thRoute 29  is taking Wine Wednesday to new heights with a dinner for all wine aficionados. They will be hosting their very own Wine Dinner, featuring an exclusive pre-set tasting menu and sought-after wine pairings picked by the experts. “Wine down” at Route 29, the Napa Valley-inspired eatery found in the heart of the Gaslamp. Featuring farm-fresh food, relaxed surroundings of iron and copper décor and the essence of wine country’s iconic, rustic-modern vibes, Route 29’s unmatched atmosphere provides the perfect setting for an upscale, artfully-crafted night out. Treat yourself to an evening you won’t forget on Wednesday, December 12th with an specialty three-course Wine and Dinner Pairing! For only $55 per person plus tax, the experts at Route 29 have crafted a menu pairing of their top wine picks and matching dinner plates starting at 7:00 P.M. December 12 – 10 Years at the Oceanside Museum of Art 
Honoring a decade-long partnership and 333 Pacific’s 10-year anniversary, the Oceanside Museum of Art and 333 Pacific will come together on Wednesday, December 12 for a special version of Music at the Museum. 333 Pacific’s Executive Chef Steven Zurkey will prepare a decadent meal and paired with selected local Fallbrook wines, and guests will sip on the night’s signature Tito’s vodka cocktail. Come in your gaudiest seasonal garb and see how well you can compete in OMA’s annual ugly holiday sweater contest. All contestants are entered into a free drawing for 333 Pacific gift certificate, bottle of wine, or guest passes to OMA. For those looking for a lighter experience, 333 Pacific will also host a cocktail hour with refreshments prior to the concert, featuring gourmet appetizers and desserts as well as wine and cocktails. All guests will receive a commemorative anniversary glass. The dinner portion of the evening begins at 5:00 p.m., with the cocktail hour beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the dinner and concert package are $75 for museum members and $90 for visitors. December 13 – Michter Dinner

Showcasing a historical legacy tracing back to the founding of America’s first whiskey company in 1753, Stake Chophouse & Bar presents a curated dinner expertly complemented by Michter’s whiskey. December 14 – LeAnne Rimes at Viejas

‘Tis the season for decking the halls and enjoying holiday music. Grammy award-winning singer LeAnne Rimes is bringing her ‘You and Meand Christmas’ Tour to San Diego this year at Viejas Casino & Resort Oak Ballroom on Friday, December 14 at 8 p.m.The award-winning singer will take the stage at the Oak Ballroom to perform some of her classic hits including holiday music and her signature song ‘Blue.’ Tickets are available for purchase online HERE. December 14 – Ugly Sweater Night at Barrel Republic

There’s nothing like frosty beer to get you into the holiday spirit! Luckily, the elves at Barrel Republic have you covered this season with a selection worthy of Santa’s personal stash. To kick off your holiday festivities in honor of National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, Barrel Republic will be giving you 10% off your tab all day long at each of their Pacific Beach, Carlsbad and Oceanside locations for sporting your most hideous Christmas sweater while you sip and savor!

December 14 – Rady’s Children’s Hospital Fundraiser at Woodstock’s Pizza

‘Tis the season for giving, and Woodstock’s Pizza is stepping up to the plate! On December 14th, Woodstock’s is hosting a month-long fundraiser and one-day Toy Drive event benefitting Rady’s Children’s Hospital! From 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 14th, Woodstock’s Pizza in Pacific Beach will be accepting toy donations at their in-store “gift tree” to be given to Rady’s Children’s patients and the Ronald McDonald House. Check the Rady’s Foundation Donation page for a list of do’s and don’ts for gifts! With a toy donation and purchase of any item at Woodstock’s, customers will receive a free regular Cinnabread dessert pizza as a sweet treat! Dress to impress in your holiday best and stick around for a Naughty and Nice Friday Night Pints, starting at 7:00 PM with half-priced pints of Sierra Nevada and photos with Santa.

December 15 – Opening of Bob Matheny: Almost Anonymous

The San Diego History Center in the heart of Balboa Park rarely exhibits work from living artists but will be opening the Bob Matheny: Almost Anonymous exhibit on December 15th to pay tribute to the remarkable influence Matheny has had on San Diego art in his lifetime. It will be the first major museum survey of the work of and will run until March 24, 2019. Covering the full breadth of his career, the exhibition is composed of over 70 multidisciplinary works, including Matheny’s early experiments with typography and small press printing from the late 1950s; his signature  series of Letter Form paintings and sculptures from the 1960s; documentation of intermedia performances and happenings from the 1970s to the present day; a selection of “assisted readymade” sculptures and collaborative works;  and recent hard-edge paintings. Many of the works in the exhibition have never been on public view.

The grand opening of Bob Matheny: Almost Anonymous is December 15th from 4pm-6pm at the San Diego History Center: 1649 El Prado, Suite 3 San Diego, CA 92101. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP here.

December 15 – S’mores at Second Chance Beer Company

Second Chance Beer Company is launching their first journey of The Barrel Experience on December 15 with a S’mores-like beer. Journey #1: S’mores is dropping at both Second Chance locations (Carmel Mountain Ranch and North Park) on December 15 at 12 p.m. This Imperial Oatmeal Stout was aged 22 months in Bourbon barrels and finished with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, lactose, graham cracker and cinnamon sticks. Only 80 bottles will be released (40 at each location), first come, first get, so beer aficionados should show up early. Additional details and rules can be found HERE. Limit one bottle per person. December 16 – Santa Visits the Little Italy Food Hall

Santa will visit the Little Italy Food Hall on Sunday, December 16 from noon to 2 p.m. and will be available for festive photos with guests of all ages in front of the Piazza della Famiglia fountain, just outside the entrance to the food hall. Guests who show a same-day receipt from any Little Italy Food Hall vendor are invited to take photos with Santa for free. Bonus: on the menu during December adults will find an assortment of wintry cocktails like the Signora Pomegranate

December 19 – BO-beau’s 8th Birthday

Celebrate BO-beau’s 8th Birthday over the course of three days at the beloved Ocean Beach bistro. From Monday, December 17 through Wednesday, December 19 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a selection of $8 bites and libations at happy hour, as well as complimentary birthday cupcakes. Bites include lamb sliders, goat cheese and pancetta flatbread, and crème brûlée, alongside sippers like the BO-beau mule, summertime sangria, and Cepage du Reve GSM red blend.

December 21 – Ugly Sweater Party

Dust off that ugly Christmas sweater you’ve been neglecting all year long or don your finest 1980’s couture for Betamaxx’s 80’s Christmas and Ugly Sweater Party taking place atMusic Box on December 21st.
