August 3-5 – Celebrate Art, Culture & Music at Latin American Festival

Immerse yourself in Bazaar del Mundo’s annual Latin American Festival and Mata Ortiz Pottery Market, August 3-5! Filled with stunning creations, live music and irresistible food, this free event features one of the country’s most extensive collections of authentic Latin American folk art, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Artists from across Latin America will showcase colorful traditional Mata Ortiz pottery, ornate décor, bright textiles and valuable collectibles for visitors to explore. Returning this year are Jacobo and Maria Angeles, whose traditional wooden carvings are showcased in Disney’s animated film “Coco.” Watch as this dynamic duo transforms stumps of wood into playful, spirited animals adorned with intricately hand-painted designs.

The marketplace will also be alive with musical entertainment, plus performances by traditional Chinelos dancers on Sunday at 1:45 and 2:45 p.m. To enjoy this weekend of culture, art and fun, visit Bazaar del Mundo at 4133 Taylor Street in Old Town San Diego.

August 6 – Royale Burgers & Cocktails

On Monday, August 6th, Royale is inviting spirits enthusiasts to throw a few back with Ryan Koontz & Andrew Cordero of The Noble Experiment. Ocean Beach’s mom ‘n pop-style bar and eatery, Royale Burgers & Cocktails, is solidifying their spot among San Diego’s essential cocktail bars. This summer, Royale’s “In Good Company” bar takeover series will give San Diego’s ‘bar stars’ the opportunity to take advantage of all that Royale / Nopalito have to offer, while creating a playful and spirited menu of ingredient-driven cocktails that are perfect for summertime sipping.  7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

August 6 – Bachelorette’s season finale at Bub’s

August 11 – Unfiltered SD

On August 11, 2018, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, join Coffee & Convos for their second annual Unfiltered SD event co-hosted by MeKa Coffee at the expansive experiential space, Sandbox Venue. Attendees will be able to connect with the community to enjoy local food and beverage, engage with incredibly talented artists and their new work including a live mural by Crash Boom Designs, and tune into live music curated by art label, As We Arrive.

August 14 – Herringbone La Jolla’s Vines & Vintages with Paul Hobbs

As the days become longer and the nights warmer, Herringbone La Jolla invites you to a celebration of the more decadent things in life, like the bounty of “Vines & Vintages” from around the world. August 18 – Searsucker San Diego’s Cans & Jams

This Saturday August 18th from 2pm-5pm, Searsucker will be lighting up the Gaslamp district with live music and guest beers from Thorn Brewing. August 18 – Imperial Pilsner Can Release

Second Chance Beer Company is celebrating their third anniversary on Saturday, August 18. To honor the occasion, they collaborated with Island Ohana at Maui Brewing Co. to create a smooth Imperial Pilsner with Jasmine Flowers (57 IBU | 7.7% ABV). Join in the fun at both the Brewery and Taproom in Carmel Mountain and the Beer Lounge in North Park. The Carmel Mountain Location is celebrating the release from 12pm to 11pm and the North Park location is open 12pm to 1am.

August 19 – Estancia La Jolla launches #SelfCareSunday Series

August 22 – Miss B’s Coconut Club

August 23 – Lola

From humble beginnings in Missouri, Lola has toured her original sound with noted musicians like Premik Russell Tubbs (Santana, Sting), Jeff Haynes (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock) and bass virtuoso Michael Manring. She was a Top Ten Finalist in the 2015 Wildflower! Songwriting Competition in Richardson, Texas. Her debut EP, released in summer 2017, has received recognition from Los Angeles music blogs, local radio play, and placement on prominent Spotify playlists. Her song “Bring My Baby Back to Me” was a selected as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.

San Diego’s very own pasta prophet Chef Daniel Wolinsky, cucina SORELLA’s Chef de Cuisine, is sharing his decade of expertise in the kitchen by hosting his very own hands-on pasta making class. August 25 – Ales & Acoustics

Head to Pacific Beach on August 26th to celebrate Bub’s @ the Beach’s 20th Anniversary Party! That’s right, this local staple has stood the test of time and is ready to pay tribute to their success and longevity with a party on the 26th, and festivities/daily specials available the entire week leading up to the event! August 29 – Green Flash Dinner Series

Enjoy an evening that is equally educational and delicious at Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill’s Green Flash Dinner Series. Sammy’s Executive Chef Alfie Szeprethy will create five delicious dishes including some Sammy’s favorites like Lobster Bisque and Wagyu beef sliders, as well as some new dishes. Each dish is expertly paired with a brew by Green Flash’s Director of Beer Education, Dave Adams who will guide diners and imbibers through each course. August 30 – ginger’s Cocktails & Comedians

Join ginger’s, a Gaslamp District cocktail lounge, for their Cocktails & Comedians event on Thursday, August 30th! An entertaining lineup of San Diego’s funniest comedians will perform from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., but plan to arrive early and grab appetizers upstairs at barleymash. Doors open for ginger’s at 7:00 p.m. and there is a two-drink minimum, which won’t be hard to meet with ginger’s selection of marvelous martinis.
