August 26 is National Dog Day – Celebrate on Pet Friendly Patios

Celebrate National Dog Day on August 26 with some posh, pet-friendly patios in San Diego. Grab the leash and read on to find out where to take your best friend to celebrate.  Crudo welcomes pets to their plush patio so you can enjoy fresh seafood alongside your four-legged friend. Soak up the sun and take in the sights of the newest shopping destination in San Diego, The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. Open from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, Crudo’s Mediterranean-inspired fast-casual dining includes a raw menu featuring the Royal Crudo Sampler, an assortment of shrimp ceviche, salmon tartar, tuna branzino and salmon.   Dolce, also located at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch, provides a spacious patio and a comfy, yet elegant place to dine with man’s best friend. Well known for their stone hearth pizzas, check out the Fennel Sausage & Pepper pizza made with farm-to-table ingredients like caramelized onion, house-made tomato sauce and fontina valle d’aosta.  Just around the corner, the patio at WESTROOT is a must-visit, bark-friendly hot spot. Your Labrador can lay by the fire pit while you take in the view with a sangria in hand. Visit during Wine Wednesday when the Housemade Sangria is only $5. If you’re a chowhound, dine outdoors with the Mini Corndogs. These fresh-made, bite-sized dogs are wrapped in a warm flaky pastry with tangy honey-porter mustard on the side. There are enough of these little guys to be shared with human friends. Pups in Carlsbad can head into Park 101 with their owners, sunbathe on the turf and hope a few leftovers are thrown their way. On the ground level, you’ll find Park Smoked Meats, where lip-smacking barbeque is prepared by Pitmaster Ryan Tuskan. What dog would deny some of the best smoked meats on this side of the Mississip’ coming their way? Located in the heart of Carlsbad Village, Park 101 is the perfect choice for pet lovers to dine out. In the mood for wine? Head over to Bellamy’s. Their menu features more than 150 wines. Ask your server about pairing the perfect pinot noir with the Moulard Duck Breast. The roasted duck is dressed in spring garlic puree, sautéed mushrooms and drizzled in a peppercorn duck reduction. Enjoy your meal outside on their garden style patio, perfect for a petite pooch.  For the French Bulldogs, the patio at Et Voila is the place to go. Located in the heart of North Park, their pet-friendly patio is the perfect place to people watch while taking pleasure in French fare. Their vast menu boasts a variety of flavors, including vegan and vegetarian options. We suggest indulging in the Tofu Grille, Sauce Moutarde. Grilled tofu tops a farro salad with baby candied beets, butternut squash and a warm mustard sauce. Enjoy brunch on the patio during the weekends or for dinner at the end of a ruff weekday.
