Worth Waiting For: cucina SORELLA

Tracy Borkum of the acclaimed cucina URBANA is opening another eatery within the Urban Kitchen Group – cucina SORELLA in Kensington.  cucina SORELLA San Diego restaurant A new spin on the signature CUCINA concept, cucina SORELLA is planned to be a gathering place for the Kensington community with a 3,500 square-foot space. The location previously housed Kensington Grill for nearly 20 years and, most recently, Fish Public.  cucina SORELLA will offer guests a more pasta-centric approach to CUCINA’s California-inspired Italian cuisine. The menu will place a heavy emphasis on hand-crafted pastas, antipasti, polenta boards and plates both small and large and sweet and savory, while incorporating several signature dishes currently available at CUCINA urbana and CUCINA enoteca. There will also be a dedicated takeout program and interactive classes that will be announced in the near future. Tracy Borkim explains the new approach for cucina SORELLA. “As we developed this concept, we went straight to the Kensington community to seek out their opinion and to gather feedback on what they would like to see go into this space. We’re excited to present guests with some very familiar elements from our original Banker’s Hill location, but reimagined to suit a more neighborhood-focused experience.”
