National Burrito Day is April 6th

On Thursday, April 6 be sure to stop by these San Diego restaurants and celebrate National Burrito Day!  A traditional taqueria The Taco Stand, in La Jolla and downtown San Diego, is inspired by the taco stands of Mexico. An assortment of breakfast burritos will add that extra kick to your day! Try the Carne Asada & Eggs Burrito loaded with scrambled eggs, certified angus beef, cheese, potatoes, and house made salsa fresca. This burrito will give you all the energy you need to make it through the morning. If you’re craving a burrito for lunch or dinner, The Taco Stand also serves delicious carne asada, nopal and adobada burritos.  No one makes breakfast as cool as Breakfast Republic in North Park. Breakfast Republic’s take on a south-of-the-border favorite, California Breakfast Burrito, showcases skirt steak, eggs, pico de gallo infused guacamole, potatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese, and sour cream with heaping sides of black beans, Mexican rice and salsa. The Brisket Burrito is made with juicy beef brisket, bacon, eggs, peppers, onions and cheese with a side of beans. A vibrant Mexican restaurant in South Park, Del Sur Mexican Cantina is the ideal place to visit on National Burrito Day. With seven different types of burritos on the menu it will be hard to just choose one.  The Grilled Fish Burrito ranks high on their list. Grilled, local seasonal fish dusted Mexi-Cajun spices, black beans, rice and cabbage served with citrus aioli and poblano crema. You can also get your burrito drenched in green or red salsa. If you had a big night, order off of the Hair of the Dog menu at UPTOWN Tavern in Hillcrest. The Breakfast Burrito is a beas, made with scrambled eggs, cheddar bratwurst, bacon, tots, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, this rolled up bad boy is served with a side of chips, ranchero salsa and chipotle crema. Not enough? Smother it in gravy and call it a day.  Known for its coastal cuisine, Rubios is celebrating the foodie holiday by offering any burrito on the menu for $5 all day long.
