Foodies at the Fest – KAABOO Returns with Killer Culinary Lineup

Now in its third year, KAABOO is coming back and better than ever with music, comedy, spa, and most importantly a drool-worthy FOOD lineup of top chefs, local favorites, and fresh, innovative cuisine. The three-day extravaganza is once again at the Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds, this year on September 15-17. 

Palate represents the most upscale culinary environment at KAABOO, where you can sample local and regional delicacies and small-batch specialties from a variety of carefully selected culinary artisans. Pair these gourmet delectables with dozens of limited production wines, craft libations or craft beers. 

AMPLIFLY guests, (HANG FIVE and HANG TEN 3-day pass holders), will be able to get a preview of the PALATE / ARTWORK experiences at the Thursday Night AMPLIFY party featuring The Barenaked Ladies and The Dan Band.  

In addition to enjoying the culinary and craft beverage offerings, guests will be able to immerse themselves in a behind-the-scenes glimpse at some of the country’s most esteemed chef talent. While headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers, P!nk, Muse, and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakersplay on the music stages, chef and cocktail talents will lead. the culinary stage. Some of the celebrity chefs include Kelis — singer turned restauranteur famous for her 2003 song “Milkshake” and feminist anthem “Bossy” and now using her Le Cordon Bleu training at KAABOO.  Also in the lineup is acclaimed local chef Richard Blais, of Juniper & Ivy and Crack Shack fame. Food Network host Robert Irvine, Top Chef winner and famed Los Angeles Chef Michael Voltaggio, Kevin Gillespie, Julio Cabrera, and Chris Adams.

Eat, Drink, Be SD will again be looking for the “Best Food at the Fest” – judging the most delicious and innovative cuisine at KAABOO. Look forward to exploring offerings from bling bling dumpling, STK, Searsucker The Baked Bear, Ralph & Richies, The Dirty Cookie, Bread + Cheese, Eat Your Heart Out, Okamoto Kitchen, Sweetfin Poke, So Rich! Chocolates, Beaming, Mallow Mallow, Wicked Maine Lobster, and more. 

The popular feature will expand to include Best Sips at the Fest this year. We will be checking out Nomadica Wine, ONEHOPE Wine, Uinta Brewing Company, Arta Tequila, FEW Bourbon, Bluecoat Gin, Magic Hat, and other delicious wine, beer, and spirits.
