Grilled Cheese pop up tent Bread and Cheese is bringing gourmet comfort food to San Diego’s best breweries and festivals. The key to the innovative flavors that Bread and Cheese delivers is the sauce that accompanies the Bread & Cie bread and high-end cheeses. Bread and Cheese puts their sauce on the OUTSIDE of the bread, used as a flavorful replacement for butter while grilling the sandwiches. Want to up the ante? You can also get cheese (or even cheese AND meat) grilled onto the outside of the sandwich in addition to the gooey inside. Owners Devin and Justin (Justin Frank previously of S&M Sausage and Meat fame) have known each other from birth. They created a seating area for diners to stick around, watching Devin skillfully man the grill. The menu rotates based on crowd favorites along with new ideas, experimenting with flavor combos. Try the Cali Gold, pesto aioli, swiss, pepper jack, arugula and roasted red peppers on sourdough bread. My favorite is the spicy burn-a-nator with enchilada aioli, pepper jack, and spicy salami and jalapeno cheddar bread. Order up some coconut curry tomato soup to dip your sandwich in.
